“Excerpts from the Classics” at the Barrow Mansion
Jersey City Ballet opened its 2025 season this past Saturday evening with Excerpts from the Classics, a free, family-friendly performance in partnership with the Barrow Mansion.
With the cherished local landmark as a stage, the program featured iconic selections from Paquita and Don Quixote, offering the audience a glimpse into the bold and technical brilliance of classical ballet.
Ballet Master and Bolshoi Ballet alumnus Simon Kazantsev staged the various excerpts, which captivated the full house from the first steps to the final bows.
And it was a full house. The space was quickly filled to standing room only, with families, local residents, and dance enthusiasts alike demonstrating the incredible desire and necessity for the arts in our community.
After the final curtain, the experience didn’t end. The audience had the special opportunity to meet the dancers and Simon, asking questions, taking photos, and enjoying refreshments.
We would like to sincerely thank the Barrow Mansion for helping us bring ballet to the community in such a welcoming and historic setting, as well as our staff, board members, and volunteers for making the evening possible.
Make sure to mark your calendars for our next performance, A Tribute to Frank Sinatra on September 7, 2025 at the Frank Sinatra Park Waterfront Amphitheater in Hoboken, NJ.
Don’t forget, registration is now open for our Fall 2025 Youth Classes. Make sure to view the schedule and enroll here!
